To Whom It May Concern:
My wife and I retired to Waikanae eleven years ago, I was aged 61 and my wife was eight years younger. We had led an active life in farming and had subjected our bodies to more wear and tear than most folk.

Lesley Unka has provided us with satisfactory Physiotherapy service over the last eleven years.
Treating both of us for the pulls and strains which we all suffer in later life, as well as providing post operative care after I had both my knee joints replaced. In fact Lesley’s ultrasound treatment was so effective in reducing the swelling in the first knee joint replacement I underwent, I booked myself for the same treatment as soon as I was discharged from hospital after the other knee was replaced. My wife had her right knee joint replaced some time later and again this treatment was most effective.
Now at age seventy two I am still very active as is my wife who works constantly in our half acre of garden. Lesley’s treatments of our physical problems has assisted us greatly, and we would have no reservations in recommending her to others.

Yours sincerely,
David Starling & Rosalie Starling.

Lesley Unka is an extremely competent manipulative physiotherapist. I have known her since the time she started her Diploma of Manipulative Physiotherapy (DipMT) through the New Zealand Manipulative Therapists Association (NZMTA) in the early 90’s. I was fortunate enough to have taken her for clinical supervision in my practice as a part of that qualification and observed first hand her skills in the management of a range of complex patients with musculoskeletal disorders. Once she successfully completed that post graduate qualification, Lesley along with her good friend and colleague Anne O’Donnell assisted on the Dip MT programme and then worked their way through this apprenticeship to become tutors with myself and Michael Monaghan. Over this time Lesley brought her clinical knowledge and ability to adapt situation to students needs to the fore. She was a very competent and clear teacher of manipulative physiotherapy and taught on the programme for a number of years. She has a particular interest in the neck and headache management.
Lesley has also kept up with the latest research and has attended both national and international conferences and seminars over the years.
Those people who live in the area of Lesley’s practice are lucky to have access to such a caring and skilled physiotherapist. I would recommend any client of mine to attend this clinic for first class service.
